Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The cottage door by Henry Singleton was sold in the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES auction at Christies in London in March 2001. The price achieved of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,308.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Singleton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The West End of the Town; and The East End of the Town in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 62,248.13).
