Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work Peace; War by Henry Singleton. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 19,700.00 (€ 27,585.10). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Singleton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The West End of the Town; and The East End of the Town, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 41,825.00 (€ 62,248.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Important British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peace; War von Henry Singleton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 19.700,00 (€ 27.585,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Singleton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The West End of the Town; and The East End of the Town beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für GBP 41.825,00 (€ 62.248,13) versteigert wurde.
