Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work S. Spode Training Eastern Bere by Samuel Henry Alken was sold in the A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,511.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Henry Alken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Start for the Derby; and Winning the Derby in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 105,687.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit S. Spode Training Eastern Bere von Samuel Henry Alken wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.511,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Henry Alken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Start for the Derby; and Winning the Derby im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 105.687,08).
