Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin and the young Christ by Henry Ryland was auctioned at Bonhams in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,825.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Ryland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The guarded flame in July last year with an auction result of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 75,233.19).
