The work Portrait of the Duke of Cambridge, head and shoulders, in dress uniform by Henry Pierce Bone was sold in the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2002. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,497.06), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Pierce Bone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work John Charles Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 3rd Earl Spencer (1782-1845), as Chancellor of the Exchequer, full length in Chancellor's robes over black mourning suit, standing beside a George II giltwood console table from Spencer House draped with green in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 62,103.

Die Arbeit Portrait of the Duke of Cambridge, head and shoulders, in dress uniform von Henry Pierce Bone wurde im März 2002 in der Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit John Charles Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 3rd Earl Spencer (1782-1845), as Chancellor of the Exchequer, full length in Chancellor's robes over black mourning suit, standing beside a George II giltwood console table from Spencer House draped with green im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 62.103,31).
