Auction result well in line with expectations
The work General Monck, 1st Duke of Albermarle, facing right in gilt-studded armour and white lawn collar, wearing the blue sash of the Order of the Garter, long curling brown hair and moustache by Henry Pierce Bone was sold in the Miniatures auction at Christies in London in May 2000. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 754.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Pierce Bone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work John Charles Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 3rd Earl Spencer (1782-1845), as Chancellor of the Exchequer, full length in Chancellor's robes over black mourning suit, standing beside a George II giltwood console table from Spencer House draped with green in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 62,103.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit General Monck, 1st Duke of Albermarle, facing right in gilt-studded armour and white lawn collar, wearing the blue sash of the Order of the Garter, long curling brown hair and moustache von Henry Pierce Bone wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion Miniatures bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit John Charles Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 3rd Earl Spencer (1782-1845), as Chancellor of the Exchequer, full length in Chancellor's robes over black mourning suit, standing beside a George II giltwood console table from Spencer House draped with green im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€
