This artwork by Henry Mayo Bateman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2018. In the Annabel's auction, the work The Outrage: Someone threw confetti at a society wedding sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,754.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Mayo Bateman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Honour was satisfied in the season in retrospect (i); Demonstration of the new flexible fowling piece for crack shots (ii) in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,659.01).
