Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
The work The Millionaire (i); Why we Halted (ii); The Post-Impressionist Exhibition (iii) by Henry Mayo Bateman was worth GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,199.24) to a buyer in November 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Annabel's at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry Mayo Bateman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Honour was satisfied in the season in retrospect (i); Demonstration of the new flexible fowling piece for crack shots (ii) sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,659.01).
