Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Townscape With Church by Henry Martin Gasser was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,000.00 (€ 10,589.48). Other works by Henry Martin Gasser have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2010 by the work Saturday Shoppers at USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,028.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Townscape With Church von Henry Martin Gasser im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.000,00 (€ 10.589,48) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Henry Martin Gasser wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2010 die Arbeit Saturday Shoppers mit USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.028,60).
