Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2003 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper, which included the work Plums, apples, grapes and a peach, on a mossy bank by Henry Livens. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 646.25 (€ 989.81). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Livens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring blossom and a bird's nest with eggs on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,304.98).
