Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Near Wargrave, Thames by Henry John Kinnaird. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,090.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry John Kinnaird have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Near Evesham On The Avon, Warwickshire; And View On The Ouse, Sussex (Illustrated) in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,583.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Near Wargrave, Thames von Henry John Kinnaird zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.090,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry John Kinnaird auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View Near Evesham On The Avon, Warwickshire; And View On The Ouse, Sussex (Illustrated) im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.583,67).
