Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry John Kinnaird could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Paintings auction, the work A backwater on the Thames, near Sonning changed hands for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,062.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Henry John Kinnaird have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Near Evesham On The Avon, Warwickshire; And View On The Ouse, Sussex (Illustrated) in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,583.67).
