Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry James Holding could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Portrait of a lady with flowers in her lap (illustrated); and Portrait of a lady in a yellow hat changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 356.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry James Holding achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The logging wagon in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,962.50 (€ 13,338.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry James Holding konnte im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady with flowers in her lap (illustrated); and Portrait of a lady in a yellow hat für GBP 240,00 (€ 356,46) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry James Holding erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The logging wagon im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.962,50 (€ 13.338,88).
