Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a draped classical figure, full-length by Henry James Holiday was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,312.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry James Holiday achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sara, belle d'indolence in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 55,000.00 (€ 61,439.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of a draped classical figure, full-length von Henry James Holiday kam im Februar 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.312,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry James Holiday erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sara, belle d'indolence im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.000,00 (€ 61.439,90).
