In September 2007 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Worthing, Sussex by Henry Hillier Parker. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 5,018.74), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Hillier Parker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The midday rest, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 12,547.50 (€ 19,408.14).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Worthing, Sussex von Henry Hillier Parker zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 5.018,74) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Hillier Parker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The midday rest beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 12.547,50 (€ 19.408,14) versteigert wurde.
