Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Simon, a grey horse in harness in a stable by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas for USD 7,767.50 (€ 5,737.55). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hunting Alphabet A Stands for ATHERSTONE Ladies are few distinguished by wearing the collar of blue. B Stands for BOOT with the Cream coloured top, the pride and the glory of many a Fop. C Stands for CUBBING when foxes abound and they rattl in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.0
