Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dick Turpin; and Miss Sutton: Hunters in autumn landscapes by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,490.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hunting Alphabet A Stands for ATHERSTONE Ladies are few distinguished by wearing the collar of blue. B Stands for BOOT with the Cream coloured top, the pride and the glory of many a Fop. C Stands for CUBBING when foxes abound and they rattl in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Hunting Alphabet A Stands for ATHERSTONE Ladies are few distinguished by wearing the collar of blue. B Stands for BOOT with the Cream coloured top, the pride and the glory of many a Fop. C Stands for CUBBING when foxes abound and they rattl im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 54.557,85).
