Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mr Ugly by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas was sold in the Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs auction at Christies in London in June 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,041.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hunting Alphabet A Stands for ATHERSTONE Ladies are few distinguished by wearing the collar of blue. B Stands for BOOT with the Cream coloured top, the pride and the glory of many a Fop. C Stands for CUBBING when foxes abound and they rattl in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.
