Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Deacon Hillier Parker could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures auction, the work The Thames near Henley changed hands for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 8,510.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Deacon Hillier Parker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Harvesting on the Sussex Downs, near Eastbourne, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 12,337.50 (€ 19,556.46).
