Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Sweping Water's, near Henley on Thames by Henry Deacon Hillier Parker. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,279.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Henry Deacon Hillier Parker have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2000 the work Harvesting on the Sussex Downs, near Eastbourne was auctioned for GBP 12,337.50 (€ 19,556.46).
