Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter length, by a window in his study with a river landscape beyond by Henry Collen was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 864.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Collen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lady Elizabeth Vernon Harcourt, facing right in yellow and blue dress, black stole, ruby-set pendant at corsage, her curling long brown hair falling over her shoulders in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,066.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter length, by a window in his study with a river landscape beyond von Henry Collen wurde im März 2002 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert.
