Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Colonel Daniel MacKimon, head and shoulders, dark hair and beard by Henry Collen was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and auction at Christies in London in November 2005. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 540.00 (€ 793.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Collen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lady Elizabeth Vernon Harcourt, facing right in yellow and blue dress, black stole, ruby-set pendant at corsage, her curling long brown hair falling over her shoulders in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,066.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
