Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A gentleman, seated half length with his left hand raised to his neck, in black doublet slashed to reveal white, frilled white collar, long sideburns by Henry Collen. The price achieved of GBP 597.50 (€ 846.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00.
