both signed 'HBone' (lower right) and inscribed, signed and dated on the counter-enamels 'Henry Hope Esq. Henry Bone pinx.t Oct.r 1802.' and 'M.rs Williams Hope Henry Bone pinx.t Dec.r 1802.', respectively

The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,251.45), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath an in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33)
