The work A pair of enamels: Henry Hope (1736-1811), in double-breasted navy jacket with black tabbed lapel, yellow stand-collar waistcoat, white frilled cravat, powdered hair; together with his niece and heiress, Ann Goddard Hope (1763-1820), in white muslin by Henry Bone was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,251.45), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath an in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33)
