Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2001 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART, which included the work The Sligo Waxy, a bay racehorse, with a Manchester terrier, in a field by Henry Bernard Chalon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,639.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Bernard Chalon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Reverend George Bower, The Reverend John Bower, Robert Bower of Welham And Robert Bower Junior At The Steps of Welham Hall, Yorkshire in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 66,561.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion SPORTING ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Sligo Waxy, a bay racehorse, with a Manchester terrier, in a field von Henry Bernard Chalon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.639,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Bernard Chalon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Reverend George Bower, The Reverend John Bower, Robert Bower of Welham And Robert Bower Junior At The Steps of Welham Hall, Yorkshire im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 66.561,15).
