Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work Frencha Desert Encampment by Henri Rousseau. The price achieved of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 106,771.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frencha Desert Encampment von Henri Rousseau zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 106.771,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Flamants im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82).
