The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,788.00 (€ 3,980.05), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Lachièze-Rey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Baigneurs à Nice, which sold at auction in July 2020 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,942.80).

Die Arbeit Portrait Á La Robe Mauve von Henri Lachièze-Rey wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 3.980,05) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Henri Lachièze-Rey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Baigneurs à Nice beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.942,80) versteigert wurde.
