This artwork by Henri Lachièze-Rey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. In the Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II auction, the work Port De Cannes sold for USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,521.20) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henri Lachièze-Rey; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Baigneurs à Nice sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,942.80).
