In the Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait auction, the work L'arrivée: horsemen dismounting before town ramparts crowded with onlookers, a servant offering wine, dogs and peacocks in the foreground; a building beyond sold for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,847.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henri-Joseph van Blarenberghe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Views Of The Chateau De Bercy, Paris sold at auction in January 2011 with the realized price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,342.33).
