Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU, which included the work An innocent milkmaid in a forest with hunters proposing assistance; the wife of a sleeping drunken smith in a forge complaining to two gentlemen; a lady with her gallant in the painter's studio; a gentleman in Turkish costume inviting a lady dressed by Henri-Joseph van Blarenberghe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,619.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri-Joseph van Blarenberghe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Views Of The Chateau De Bercy, Paris in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,342.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU durch, in der auch die Arbeit An innocent milkmaid in a forest with hunters proposing assistance; the wife of a sleeping drunken smith in a forge complaining to two gentlemen; a lady with her gallant in the painter's studio; a gentleman in Turkish costume inviting a lady dressed von Henri-Joseph van Blarenberghe zur Versteigerung kam.
