Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of an old lady, quarter-length, in a lace bonnet, green dress and shawl by Henri-Joseph Boichard was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2004. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 537.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri-Joseph Boichard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kleine Schlucht bei Tivoli. 1824. in September 2006 with an auction result of CHF 18,000.00 (€ 11,345.94).
