Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of Petrus Blieck, Standing by Hendrik Pothoven was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,309.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrik Pothoven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young page, probably Guan Anthony Sideron, servant of Willem V, Prince of Orange in January last year with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 134,855.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of Petrus Blieck, Standing von Hendrik Pothoven im Januar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.309,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendrik Pothoven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young page, probably Guan Anthony Sideron, servant of Willem V, Prince of Orange im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 134.855,51).
