Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boats near Enkhuizen with the Dromedaris in the background; and A riverlandscape at sunset with the Zuidertoren, Enkhuizen by Hendrik Hulk was sold in the Topographical Observations: Picture your world auction at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrik Hulk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing barges on a river; Vessels on a calm river, which sold at auction in April 2003 for EUR 7,170.00.

Die Arbeit Boats near Enkhuizen with the Dromedaris in the background; and A riverlandscape at sunset with the Zuidertoren, Enkhuizen von Hendrik Hulk wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion Topographical Observations: Picture your world bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Hendrik Hulk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sailing barges on a river; Vessels on a calm river beobachtet, die im April 2003 für EUR 7.170,00 versteigert wurde.
