Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A landscape with figures on a frozen river by Hendrik Gerrit ten Cate. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,876.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hendrik Gerrit ten Cate have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wooded landscape with figures by a pond in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,316.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A landscape with figures on a frozen river von Hendrik Gerrit ten Cate zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.876,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hendrik Gerrit ten Cate auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A wooded landscape with figures by a pond im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.316,93).
