In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Saint John The Baptist With Two Putti And A Lamb In A Rocky Landscape by Hendrik van Balen I. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,696.48), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrik van Balen I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Preaching of Saint John the Baptist in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 224,243.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint John The Baptist With Two Putti And A Lamb In A Rocky Landscape von Hendrik van Balen I zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.696,48) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendrik van Balen I erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Preaching of Saint John the Baptist im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 224.243,98).
