Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New York (two children dancing) by Helen Levitt was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 5,715.00 (€ 5,407.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Helen Levitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York, c.1942 in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 41,027.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit New York (two children dancing) von Helen Levitt kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.715,00 (€ 5.407,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Helen Levitt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York, c.1942 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 41.027,58).
