Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work New York (children playing) by Helen Levitt. The price achieved of USD 3,556.00 (€ 3,364.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Levitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York, c.1942 in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 41,027.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit New York (children playing) von Helen Levitt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.556,00 (€ 3.364,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Levitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York, c.1942 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 41.027,58).
