Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work A Collection of sixty-seven engravings by Heinrich Aldegrever was worth GBP 6,630.00 (€ 7,908.20) to a buyer in December 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Prints and Multiples at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Heinrich Aldegrever achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lazarus begging for Crumbs from Dives's Table (Luke 16:19-31) in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 156,500.00 (€ 160,397.66).
