This artwork by He Qiyuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Bird on Branch sold for HKD 22,500.00 (€ 2,539.52) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by He Qiyuan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Quails sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,184.98).

Dieses Kunstwerk von He Qiyuan erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Bird on Branch für HKD 22.500,00 (€ 2.539,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von He Qiyuan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Quails im Juli 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.184,98).
