Despite a disappointment, a good price for Hazel Finck
In July 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Backyard by Hazel Finck for USD 3,585.00 (€ 3,659.66). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Backyard is the most expensive artwork by Hazel Finck that we have observed at auction so far.
