In March 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction THE BLEASEL COLLECTION OF AUSTRALIAN PAINTINGS, which included the work River Scene by Haughton Forrest. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 53,775.00 (€ 32,922.62), 34% above the upper estimate. Other works by Haughton Forrest have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 65,725.00 (€ 40,238.76) in March 2005 for the work Top Sail Schooner And Sailing Yacht.
