Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in Brussels held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Maalem Simo Lagnawi, 2010/1431 by Hassan Hajjaj. The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,574.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hassan Hajjaj - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Master Cobra Mansa, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,749.01).
