In September 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS, which included the work Striptease at the bar by Harry Maas. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 5,851.00 (€ 2,696.74), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harry Maas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Relaxing on the sofa, which sold at auction in June 2004 for EUR 7,767.50.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Striptease at the bar von Harry Maas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 5.851,00 (€ 2.696,74) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Harry Maas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Relaxing on the sofa beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für EUR 7.767,50 versteigert wurde.
