Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Race by Harry Kernoff was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,375.00 (€ 3,954.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Kernoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Death in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 122,752.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Race von Harry Kernoff kam im Mai 2010 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.375,00 (€ 3.954,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Kernoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Death im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 122.752,22).
