Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Fishing Men – West River, Nova Scotia, Canada by Harry Kernoff. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,963.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Kernoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Death in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 122,752.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing Men – West River, Nova Scotia, Canada von Harry Kernoff zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.963,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Kernoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Death im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 122.752,22).
