Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Liam O’Flaherty by Harry Kernoff was sold in the Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 6,946.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Kernoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Death in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 122,752.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Liam O’Flaherty von Harry Kernoff wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 6.946,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Kernoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Death im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 122.752,22).
