In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work Gladstone by Harry Furniss. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,423.19), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Harry Furniss; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gladstone At The Despatch Box sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,707.83).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.423,19) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Harry Furniss; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Gladstone At The Despatch Box im März 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.707,83).
