Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Roadside At Blackwood by Harold Septimus Power was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 1,230.00 (€ 733.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Septimus Power achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Young Woman with Two Spaniels in November this year with an auction result of AUD 51,660.00 (€ 31,323.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Roadside At Blackwood von Harold Septimus Power im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 1.230,00 (€ 733,98) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harold Septimus Power erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a Young Woman with Two Spaniels im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 51.660,00 (€ 31.323,73).
