Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Village Wedding by Harold Knight was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,876.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Harold Knight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Florence in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 458,500.00 (€ 544,797.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Village Wedding von Harold Knight kam im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.876,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harold Knight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Florence im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 458.500,00 (€ 544.797,19).
