Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,750.00 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harm Kamerlingh Onnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wachten voor het loket in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 25,000.00.

Die Arbeit A Haymaking Machine On Terschelling von Harm Kamerlingh Onnes wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.750,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harm Kamerlingh Onnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wachten voor het loket im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.000,00.
